Poland’s Polish Pottery

A town located in southern Poland, namely Boleslawiec produces amazing polish pottery. The art of making polish pottery arose in the Middle ages but it was not well recognized till the 19th century after which it was recognized as an amazing art. They use blue, green and yellow colours to create beautiful patterns on white base colour. All kinds of crockery can be made by this art. This involves the making of pots, plates, jugs, jars and many more. These households are of great quality and durability. Art has been represented in the form of pottery in Europe for thousands of years. The town Boleslawiec is well recognized for its art of producing great ceramic pottery. The town’s name is recognized with the pottery made there. They produce unique and durable pieces of art. The ceramics are also identified by their German name, Bunzlauer pottery. The town Boleslaweic has high deposits of good quality, excavated and silicon rich clay.

The pieces of pottery are baked in the kiln at extremely high temperatures. Once stoneware is created, it is rebaked after applying glaze.

The earliest stoneware pieces seem to be as old as produced during the 16th century. It was known as an art produced by the locals. The pottery was stamped with potatoes to produce amazing designs. Many patterns of pottery have been produced since then but still traditional patterns remain famous.

Boleslaweic has its own pottery school which mostly admits kids of potters. They teach the kids professional pottery methods and the best ways to make stonewares and increase their durability.
